We began our new 10:30 a.m. “blended” family Sunday service ministry format on May 5th, 2019 (one service per Sunday). New time, new format. Sunday school will now be @ 9:15 a.m. Currently, we are still using both our Praise & Worship Team and our choir (Oakwood Joy Singers) in our worship experience. This new “blended” service will incorporate some of the traditional format & some of the contemporary flair. We believe we can incorporate our passion for Holy Communion into the service every Sunday. We will have prayer stations along with some other ideas that will enhance our worship experience. Thank you for all of your hard work & your prayers as we allow God’s Spirit to guide us in our “next steps”.

Let God’s Holy Spirit guide us to do what is right in His eyes. And, that reminds me of a recent tweet from my favorite messianic rabbi:

We have been planning our new vision diligently, and we know God will bless our efforts to make Oakwood Methodist an even sharper tool for which to do God’s work. We have seen steady improvements since we began our new planning sessions (in fact, there was a definite improvement on the very next day following our first vision planning meeting). New families are joining Oakwood. And, there’s been a large increase in the number of youth that we serve. We thank God for each blessing received and delivered.

** Bookmark this post that will be updated periodically with new information as our new “blended” service transforms into the format that will best serve Oakwood Methodist and the global Church-at-large. Let’s be like God’s hands and feet. We want to be a blessing to our community and be the tool that God intends us to be!
