We’re doing it again, so don’t forget this year’s Blessing of the Animals Service, Sunday, October 6th, 2019 @ 6:30-7:30pm, Northisde lawn of Oakwood UMC building complex. (Oakwood United Methodist Church, 2215 58th St., Lubbock, TX [Google Maps Link]).

Nearly seventy percent of U.S. households have at least one pet. Cats and dogs may grow up alongside our children or become important companions for those who live alone. Churches recognize the bond between people and pets and United Methodists believe in care for all of God’s creatures. Many churches offer an annual blessing of the animals events. This reflection looks at a few of the ways churches care for people and their pets. Click this page for a video from UMC.org: United Methodist Churches Welcome Pets

Bring your family pets. Please be sure your animals are on a leash, or in a travel container of some sort.

We all know that our pets are part of the family. The health of your pets is a concern to the whole family. Allow us to bless that special part of your family.

Bring a lawn chair to sit on.  And, feel free to donate some pet food for our Blessing Box located on the East side of Oakwood United Methodist Church.
