National Day of Prayer, How To Pray

Today is the designated National Day Of Prayer. It’s a ceremony where we show our continued faith in God. And, we are so very thankful that we live in a country where our federal government signed into law this day of national prayer observance. Today our nation is coming before God seeking His divine guidance. This National Day Of Prayer was signed into law in 1952, and every president since then has signed a proclamation to support it.

According to Dr. Ronnie Floyd, ‘love’ is what our country needs most this year. And, as Jesus said: “Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” Matthew 22:37-39.

Dr. Floyd stresses that we should pray that our nation is on God’s side. God is always on our side, but we need to make sure that all of us are on His side.

1. Pray for Americans to love one another.
2. Pray churches in America may be unified by love.
3. Pray for love to be at the center of our families, workplaces, and communities.
4. Pray for love to overcome hate and racism and bring healing between ethnicities in America.
