We Celebrate The Creator

We are a growing body; come grow with us! Oakwood United Methodist Church focuses on you; like you were family. Oakwood is full of people who want to love God and their neighbors a little more each day. We are the kind of church where you can find a friend. Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand. It is the greatest gift anyone can give. Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. We make a living by what we get, but a life by what we give.

Oakwood UMC Mission Statement

Inviting. Connecting. Transforming.

– Inviting one person at a time to Oakwood UMC.
– Connecting one person at a time to a small group and ministering to the world.
– Transforming one person at a time to the likeness of Jesus Christ.

Baptism Oakwood United Methodist Church, Lubbock Texas

We believe baptism is a symbol of new life and a sign of God’s love and forgiveness of our sins. Through baptism we are joined with the Church and with Christians everywhere. We will baptize persons of any age. TAP FOR MORE

We baptize by sprinkling, immersing, or pouring. It is our understanding that baptism should only happen once in a person’s life. Since this is a sign of God’s love, we do not believe it can be done incorrectly.
